Scope & Mission

The Bahria Journal of Professional Psychology BJPP (ISSN 1816-0840) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing psychological science and professional practice through the publication of rigorous, original, and theoretically informed research. The journal provides a multidisciplinary forum for scholarship that contributes to the understanding of psychological processes, human behaviour, mental health, psychological wellbeing, and the application of psychological knowledge across diverse individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and societal contexts.

BJPP welcomes high-quality empirical research employing quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, longitudinal, clinical, psychometric, and other scientifically appropriate methodologies. The journal also considers systematic and scoping reviews, meta-analyses, theoretical and conceptual papers, methodological contributions, brief research reports, and well-substantiated applied or clinical studies that make a meaningful contribution to psychological knowledge or professional practice.

The journal encompasses research across the broad spectrum of psychology, including but not limited to clinical and counselling psychology, psychological assessment and psychometrics, health and community psychology, developmental and educational psychology, social and cultural psychology, individual and gender psychology, organizational and occupational psychology, cognitive and behavioural sciences, neuropsychology, positive psychology, and emerging interdisciplinary areas of psychological research.

BJPP particularly welcomes research that advances evidence-based psychological assessment, prevention, intervention, psychotherapy, professional practice, and service delivery; addresses contemporary psychological and societal challenges; examines psychological phenomena across diverse populations and cultural contexts; or bridges psychological science with related disciplines. Research addressing issues of relevance to low- and middle-income countries,  and culturally diverse settings is especially encouraged where it offers insights of broader international relevance.

The journal is committed to promoting research that is methodologically rigorous, ethically conducted, transparent, and relevant to contemporary psychological science and practice. Contributions should demonstrate clear theoretical, empirical, methodological, or applied significance and, where appropriate, articulate implications for psychological practice, policy, education, or future research.

Furthermore, BJPP seeks to facilitate consistent dialogue between researchers, academicians, practitioners, and other professionals to contribute to the advancement of professional psychology as a scientific and practical discipline.
